One of Italy’s revered varietals, Sangiovese is responsible for many of the country’s most sought after wines. Heavily planted in Central Italy, this varietal can produce a range of flavors a result from both it’s ability to adapt to various soil types but also how well it ages in barrel. Sour cherries, strawberries, floral notes and zesty spice notes are signature flavors for Sangiovese.
Key Regions: Tuscany Italy; Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
